Christmas Prosecco Punch Cocktail Recipe

Last Updated on August 5, 2024 by Jo

This Christmas Prosecco Punch is a great festive cocktail that you can make in bulk for an office Christmas party or festive get-together with friends. Sparkling with Prosecco and stuffed with fruit, it’s the perfect mix of naughty and nice.

What is Christmas Prosecco Punch?

Christmas Prosecco Punch is a festive cranberry-based cocktail that is lightened with the bright summer flavours of orange and Pomegranate. Vodka and orange liqueur add the alcohol and, of course, Prosecco for some Christmas sparkle. It reminds me of walking around Italy’s Christmas Markets.

Which Prosecco to use

Your choice of Prosecco doesn’t matter so much with this cocktail. Of course, using the best Prosecco you can find is always a good idea. However, when strong fruit flavours are involved, the style of Prosecco is generally dampened. That means, you can easily get away with a cheaper bottle. If you do have a choice, I use a sweeter style Extra Dry Prosecco for this cocktail to balance out the tart fruit flavours. But Dry and Brut can also work well. Serving suggestions

  • I’ve kept the ratio of all the ingredients super simple at 1 ounce of each. This makes one generous 6 oz cocktail. To scale up, increase the ounces for your number of guests.
  • It’s hard to go wrong with this cocktail so if you want it sweeter, add more orange juice and less cranberry. Likewise, add more cranberry if you want it more tart.
  • And, since it’s a festive occasion, an extra slosh of orange liqueur can easily sweeten up the punch (in the same way vodka can strengthen it).
  • If you do make a large punch bowl for a party or event, make the rest of the cocktail in advance then add the Prosecco at the last minute just before you’re ready to serve.
  • I try not to use ice where Prosecco is involved and also for winter drinks. However, it’s nice to have a cool drink. So, make sure your ingredients are super-chilled before combining. Freezing the vodka helps keep this punch cool without using ice.
  • Freezing the pomegranate seeds and cranberries is another good solution.
  • Cranberries are safe to add but can be bitter to bite into. Exclude these if you don’t think your guests will like this tart surprise.
